Harmony's Way (Breed series #8)

Harmony's Way (Breed Series, #8) Harmony's Way (Breed Series, #8) by Lora Leigh

My review

rating: 2 of 5 stars
I'm really starting to get sick of Lora Leigh's writing. There doesn't seem to be much of a plot behind any of her novels ... or any true emotions. Just one character having a lot (and graphic sex) with another character who Lora Leigh then declares the mate of which ever character is breed.

Harmony's Way (Breed Series, #8) isn't much different. You find out Harmony is a Breed they formerly called Death. Her brother, who you are lead to believe wants revenge against her for killing their mother, sends her to Broken Butte, a small town in what I assumed was the southwest, to a man named Lance Jacobs, who is her mate. Harmony's brother, Jonas, knew Lance was Harmony's mate but we are never told how he knew.

The plot never really develops and there is a twist of fanatical supremists thrown in there but the book never really takes off. Poor excuse for a book if you ask me.

Book: Hot Spell (Breed Series #6)

Hot Spell (Includes: Breed Series, #6; Guardians, #1) Hot Spell by Emma Holly

My review

rating: 3 of 5 stars
Tarek wants Lyra. He doesn't know why. He doesn't really care. But can this human, petite and so ... normal, have feelings for an abomination?

She works as an accountant. She makes coffee. And she bakes bread when she's stressed. How could a nobody virgin like Lyra have anything to offer the gorgeous Tarek Jordan who moved in next door six months ago?

When Lyra is attacked all hell breaks loose and we will see how far a little Mating Heat can take these two.

Book: Kiss of Heat (Breeds Series #4)

Kiss of Heat (Breed Series, #4) Kiss of Heat by Lora Leigh

My review

rating: 3 of 5 stars
Kane is thrown back into the world of Breeds after his baby sister, Merinus (see Book 1 in the Breeds Series) mates with Callan. And who he finds in the group of half-human/half-felines is more startling than the Breed's genetic makeup. Sherra. His mate that he thought had been dead for the past 11 years.

Sherra. The woman who had endured her mate walking away from her 11 years ago, just before she lost their child that she had been carrying.

Kane. The man she had hardened her heart to. He's back and the mating heat is on.

Good (as in better than the first book in my opinion). There was plot to this book. There was action. There was A LOT of sex (which is a true staple of Lora Leigh's writing style). But there was an emotional element to this novel too.
